The Group Buy is now at 499 people with 4 days to go! Clearly, the word is getting out about Orange Tree Samples and the GB.

As far as I can recall, this highest number for a Group Buy for an independent sample developer. There was one a few years ago that reached a little over 500 UNITS by Dave Kerzner over at Sonic Reality (it was for one of their lines of drum kits -- of course, I picked something up; IK Multimedia had a GB that went gangbusters, over 2,000 I think, but I wouldn't classify IK as a an independent sample developer), but, as I recall, that GB measured units, not individual people/participants like this one does. What's the highest GB number of customers anyone else can remember?

For anyone who hasn't joined the Group Buy yet, we've reached 50% off every library Orange Tree Samples makes and 2 free libraries just being part of the GB. Here's the link:

Just bought three more, Cherry Electric Bass, CoreBass Pear, and Iconic Jaco because I doubt we will see 50% off again in the near future.  Already purchased EB-Rick.  So, now i have my basses covered.  I hope to use these in place of similar basses in Trillian, which really does take a lot of memory.  Now that I figured out how to load the Rick in Kontakt 4 with less DFD memory, the OTS basses will become my default team.

[[Edit:  below]]
I wanted to let forum members know that the CoreBass Pear has eight different .nki instruments (consider them presets) representing eight different nuanced styles of upright basses.  When I first looked on the OTS site and the videos, I thought there was just one .nki, but to my happy surprise there were eight very usable nki's which have different style/character to them.  This makes the CoreBass Pear more versitile than i had first thought.  Here they are:
1 Default nki
2 Pop Uptright
3 Jazz Bass
4 Electric Upright
5 Psychodelic
6 Retro Standup
7 Rockabilly
8 Smooth

As we've watched the current Group Buy grow beyond our expectations to become the largest sale in our company's five year history, we've been looking for more ways we can give something back to you for supporting us and spreading the word about Orange Tree Samples while keeping the Group Buy fun at the same time!

We've decided to bring back four (4) very special libraries we gave away for a limited time in the recent past. So if you missed these before, now is your second chance to pick them up! We'll be giving these libraries to everyone who has participated in the Group Buy as a token of our gratitude when we reach 550 participants. The libraries include:

Stomp Box  - a wooden box guitarists use to make a percussive tapping sound. This library really complements Evolution Acoustic Guitar - Steel Strings.
Rainstick - a large bamboo tube filled with beans, that produces an effect reminiscent of rain. The rainstick is great for long washes in intros to songs or transitions between sections.
Finger Cymbals - a pair of Zildjian finger cymbals with a long, rich sustain.
Sleigh Bells - the perfect library to use in your seasonal productions.

Each library is multi-mic'ed. The mic signals were kept separate to give you the power to set their balance, enabling you to fine-tune the balance between multiple mic signals to get the instruments to blend perfectly in your mix.

Considering that, as I write this, we're presently at 515 Group Buy participants with 3 days to go, I don't think they'll be any problem reaching 550. Still, I hope you'll find it enough of a challenge to keep things fun! So, thank you for your continued support of Orange Tree Samples and we hope to see you in the forums and on Facebook as we complete the homestretch of our company's most successful Group Buy -- all due to you!

Sincerely,
Greg Schlaepfer

Here's the first demo of the SLIDE Acoustic sample library:

SLIDE Acoustic: Nobody's Fault But Mine (MP3)

That's also SLIDE Acoustic playing the solo, through an amp.

Remember, tomorrow is the last day to send in your entry for the Orange Tree Samples Demo Contest for a chance to win this library before its release.

Jeez, Greg, you should just stretch your demos and release them as an album.
