There is another good reason for using that route. Unless I am missing something the BFD2 kits are not included with BFD3, so this will not only be cheaper, you will get more drums too.
 
Mind you, from my inital impressions the new BFD3 kits have raised the bar!

yes indeed...you get both the 2 and 3 kits this way...as opposed to just the 3 kits...most definitely the way

You're right Glyn, BFD3 comes with a completely new range of kits from platinum samples that have definitely raised the bar.
From their site it says there will be a demo coming SOON.
 
I'm guessing you'll get one new kit and wont be able to load any of the BFD2 kits or something like that.
