The author promises weekly tutorials. So far they're pretty basic, but that's always a good place to start.

They've actually been more than weekly, I get them every couple of days in my email. Although they seem to be geared toward a dance edm styling, the lessons themselves have been excellent. He also does the Native Instrument synths and others. I get a few, and there often to many to read, but I have been able to pick up some very useful tips and tricks. Mark (Soundmagus) has been a mainstay in the EDM scene and has been active on Tranceaddicts and other production forums for a long time.  He's a very knowledgeable and nice guy.  He also offers tutorials on sound design, Cubase, EDM production, mixing, etc. on his own website.

Yeh, it's definitely EDM-oriented, but that doesn't put me off. Take a "trance" pad, remove the amplitude modulation and now it's "cinematic".

I've watched all of Howard Scarr's videos, but there are too many "magic" wait-a-minute! steps. Even if I'm following along, my patch may not sound at all like his. Mark's conversational "let's try this" approach is a little more accessible.
