Another uber-cool sample library I can't afford: 8W from 8Dio, the biggest symphony orchestra ever sampled: 240 players, 100 strings, 60 brass, 60 woodwinds and 20 percussionists. 8 microphone positions. Yup, it sounds as big as it sounds.

Sold through a newly-established subsidiary called V8P, and all I could find was a Facebook page. Some demo songs can be found in the KVR announcement. No price has been given yet, but I'm guessing it won't fall into the no-brainer range. None of 8Dio's stuff does. If you're on their mailing list you'll be getting more information this week.

There was an email months ago with more information (little info and some confusion).

From 8dio CEO:

I am also incredibly excited for our upcoming announcements. The whole team has been working for over a year on our upcoming 8W project and the launch of our V8P Club, which is an exclusive sample line designed for 8Dio's loyal customers. 8W is the largest symphony orchestra ever sampled and amongst the best sample libraries I have used in my life.

V8P facebook page:

Welcome to the V8P Loyalty Program - a tailor-fitted program, designed exclusively for our most loyal 8Dio consumers.

AND now the PRICE (get ready it's a WOPPER!):

The collections will retail from $999 and up and will be available to all qualifying applicants. Any 8Dio customer who has purchased more then $1999 will be eligible for the V8P program.

It is an Exclusive invite only club to buy the packs and what not.

Depends on the meaning of "no-brainer"

Since it's a cut-n-paste I assume they are the ones who do NOT have a proof reader.
(ducks as Straummy throws a dictionary at me)

Yeh, I guess someone without a brain would have no problem spending $2k on a novelty sample library, so in that context it does qualify as a "no-brainer".

Still, I expect yorolpal and bapu will race to see who gets it first, and it is my understanding that both those guys do in fact have working brains. Terminal GAS, though, can trump otherwise fully-functional brains.
