I guess I'm lucky.  It took about 6 hours or so for the download, so I had some time to play around with it last night.  A bit of a learning curve, but I like what I hear so far.  I'll post more when I have time, but first impression is that it will be a decent upgrade for me.  Now the only problem I have is finding time to really dig in and have some fun with it.

Hi Guys
When you've had a chance to install (after all your massive downloads!) could we have some feedback - I'm interested if they have made any improvements to the groove  library browser - I have Eco and the main reason I don't use it much is that I never liked the library browser much. Also does anyone know if they have announced an upgrade path from Eco?
Thanks
Nigel

I'm a bit mixed on how they did the browser.  I think once I get used to it I'll really like it.  There are a lot more filters and I think it is a pretty big improvement.  It reminds me a bit of a cross between EZDrummer filters and the way NI products have filters at different levels.  The only thing I haven't figured out with it is how to bring up one particular Groove Monkee library.  I've found Groove Monkee in the filters, but it doesn't necessarily break it out by library.  This way might actually be better once I figure my way around though.  You can filter by time sig, genre, and a few other items to find what you are looking for.

thanks info appreciated - I think I am going to have to see this before making a decision on BFD3 - I got Eco for next to nothing but as I said I have never really used it - this function does seem a problem, especially with third party stuff - Addictive Drums is also not great at this.
Surprised they have not looked at something like Superior Drummer or Slate and said lets just copy those - they seem the easiest and of course display third party stuff correctly
Again thanks
Nigel

Well, it is much more like the Superior Drummer/EZDrummer approach.  (That's the one thing I don't like in Addictive Drums as well)  The only thing that was missing was being able to select a particular library, but I think that would be available if GrooveMonkee updates their libraries to have that data.  There is an option to select a library, it's just grouping all of my legacy GrooveMonkee stuff together, if that makes sense.  I'm hoping there is an update on the GrooveMonkee side to add that in.  I'll try playing with it some more and see if I can give you any more specific feedback later.

I'm working with FXpansion to either updated BFD3 to use the original library names.. or we need to update our library names in all our palettes.

The grooves themselves are playing fine -- their library name isn't being used in BFD3 (as they are in BFD2) yet...  We will have a resolution to this for our libraries in a few days.

Thanks,

Thanks for the update Rail.  I figured something would be coming soon to resolve that issue.  I know you were pretty heavily involved in this process and the quality shows it.

Thanks for the heads up.
I like the ability to launch & install right from the new LM.

Yeah the new licence manager is really well thought out.
