Hey there, scored a 700 Console and I am trying to idiot proof the install process. I am using Sonar X1 Expanded Producer with all the current updates, 64bit in Win 7 64bit.

It comes with the old drivers: Vista 64 Ver 1.0.0, so obviously I need new drivers ect...

I did find Ver.2 drivers on the Roland site, but no obvious Plugin/VST updates or new install directions. Could anyone outline a good clean install on Win7/Sonar X1 system for just the Console? Are there new Plugins for it - of so where? Is there anything else I need to check to get this to work proper first time around?

Thanks Norrie - while the driver and system updates are there - there's no info on the plug-in/vst. The old install instructions say that I should just install the drivers and the plug-in software when using just the console. Of course those instructions are for XP/Vista, so I am trying to fill in all the blanks.

Follow the step-by-step instructions located at http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/kb/pages/vs700_installation.aspx, paying particular attention to the notes about which driver, firmware and control surface modules versions to download and install if you are using on the console without the input/output unit.
 
If you need to uninstall a driver before installing the new one, please make sure you reboot after the uninstall.

Thanks Sacha - that was exactly what I needed. Some reason I could not find that before. The Roland site continues to be less than helpful...
