The Band19
2 works well, I don't use all of the features, really just the samples? And the UI. I put everything (all drums) out on mono channels and then mix the drums. I am aware that I do it a hard way? I'm sure the plug (both 2 and especially 3) is wide and deep. I don't use loops (no problem with those that do? I know most do, regardless of the SW) I do like BFD2, I'm sure 3 will be epic!! I won't be looking to buy, but those who use all of the features I'm sure will benefit.

What do you mean by, " a jamstix kind of engine"
What is a jamstix engine and what does it do the BFD3 doesn't ?

Ok, I do remember jamstix. It looks to me like BFD3 (and BFD2) does a lot of the things jamstix does but just in a different way though I have to say jamstix does look like it has some useful features.
When you said engine you meant midi engine I'm guessing.
I never use loops in my own songs so jamstix isn't really for me but it looks a useful tool.
There are a lot of things regarding realism BFD3 can do that jamstix can't do, at least at first glance but I have to say after watching the jamstix 3 video it looks excellent for song creation. I had a demo of jamstix one years ago but didn't have much use for it.
Maybe I'll give it another go.

Steve,

I like the way Jamstix can call up a style (blues, funk, etc..) and a player. Then define the song structure such as intro, verse, chorus, and other parameters. Jamstix will proceed to create the drum parts automatically. ..although I must admit that I have not use of this feature as often as I liked.

I think it would be awesome to build up drum parts fast especially for none drummer like me. I hate to audition midi grooves one by one and chaining them up.. I always end up programming all the drum patterns in my projects.

Wondering if BFD3 can use BFD2 sound packs.

Just bought a bunch of them on their recent sales.
