nice!!

i've wanted one of these for a long time..

i met paul reed smith, back in 1980, before he was 'PRS'

he had a tiny little shop in annapolis, and did some bridge work on my ibanez artist for me.

he was in the middle of putting the birds of prey inlays into what was Santana's very first paul reed smith guitar.

that was very cool.

very well made instruments, that sound excellent!
congrats!

I love it! My guitar looks great with it too! My Strat's not that hard to play but I prolly shoudn't have used super glue.

Rain
I need to find something to do w/ my strat. I see it sitting there, and it seems a shame not to use it.

Then I start thinking about what I'd upgrade. Pick ups for sure - that thing needs a humbucker. A new pickguard would be needed to accommodate that. Plus the knobs are constantly falling off and electronics would need to be replaced and/or cleaned up.

But then, I can't really just put a mighty new loaded pickguard on that damaged body. There's a pretty nasty dent in it and a few not as bad ones... I guess I could have the finish stripped off, the whole thing sanded and repainted. I'd like it painted white and with a black pickguard - if I'm to re-do it, might as well have it the way I want.

That being said, I might as well just buy a new body from Warmoth or Mighty Might, put the new electronics and pickguard on that and snap on the old neck. Except that, at that point, I realize that there's nothing so special about my old maple neck and that I tend to prefer rosewood these days...

So basically, the only thing I'd use from it would be the tuners and the bridge - not because I like them but because they don't really bother me.

That's why my old strat is still sitting there...
