Great pic Randy. Amazing colour, all the herons I've seen have been a dull grey. The sight of one being 'mugged' by 8 guinea fowl was quite memorable though. 
Hey James my old friend. How are you? Here in upstate NY, the young heron are a blueish tint for about the first six months or so. You can't really see it til they fly. They start to turn gray before they are a year old.
