Fedex tracking. Seriously...

Sweetwater provided me w/ a tracking number early Thursday. As usual, a delay is to be expected before any info can be retrieved.

So in the late evening of Friday, I could finally see that my package had left Sweetwater (Fort Wayne, Indiana) the day before and was now in a Fedex location in Perrysburg, Ohio - further away in the east...

The next update was finally provided during the night of Monday to Tuesday - around 2 am. Package arrived in Phoenix, Arizona. By this morning, the estimated delivery was today, 09/15. Great: a day earlier than expected!

However, as of 5 pm tonight, the estimated delivery had become N/A. No further info.

As of 6:09 pm tonight, my package had officially "Departed FedEx location". In Phoenix, that is.

But still no estimated delivery.

Makes you wonder how they even expected to have it delivered today...

Since I offer no service I don't expect even an honourable bill mention.

Hey Rain, since I live by Fort Wayne you should have contacted me. I could have picked said package up then met you half way...
What would that be, Colorado maybe?
Lol

Nothing wrong with a little Rocky Mountain high...

Oh it gets better there are two divisions of fed ex, one of them is HOME DELIVERY (which apparently is some kind of contract service).

I use a ups store here for all my delivery's now since I am not at home, I have a gated drive, and the ups store is on my way home.

Several times I have opted for Saturday delivery from Amazon, they chose to use FEd EX Home, well on Saturday my  ups store closes at 4 PM, well fed ex attempted delivery at 5:15 (under their terms of delivery can be late as 8).

NO problem Ill get it Monday, right?

Wrong.Home delivery does nor tun on Monday so the package was delivered Tuesday.

I did receive it Tuesday and returned it to Amazon since it didn't meet the 2 day delivery time.

Ask them if they use fed ex home.

In the bad old days when I was working, I sent a set of telecom modems via FedEx to a Telco in Australia for trials... they were delivered on time to Austria...............

As it turns out, I can't say a bad thing about FedEx in this case because the initial estimated delivery date was met.

But as for the tracking service, it just doesn't seem too useful or accurate at this point, for my taste anyway...

In my experience Fed Ex beats the heck out of UPS... UPS beats the heck out of the packages it ships but DHL is the way to go for sending or receiving anything sensitive.

I think UPS workers use packages in some sort of sporting event.... like "toss the box" or "How many packages can you get on the forklift before they all fall off" or "How many holes can you punch in a box".

Then there are the "sellers".. I once bought a pristine pair of RS Mach II speakers... they came out of a "Ladies Club". They looked great and I got a great deal on them. I was going to pair them with a Pioneer SX-1010.. Alas, the guy who sold them wrapped them in brown paper... yeah. that is all, brown paper, one layer and then shipped them UPS. Luckily there were no holes in the cones. The corners were, of course bashed in, there were quarter size holes in the backs of the cabinets... I got half my money back and an apology. The guy was just ignorant... I wound up giving them away to a mover the last time we moved.
