Passing reflection on company activation...
I don't do anything beyond a serial number without a firm warez crack in place. Still a couple programs I got left waiting for some 12 year old kid to figure out.
Some of us have had companies go down, or even still exist that have shut down activations and held us for ransome. The Waves and Voyetra bastards are prototypes of how they can manipulate you after the sale.
Then there are those going under with no recourse for reactivation, like the Kjaerhus Golden suite for anyone here old enough to have been burned by that disaster.
All respect to Adobe. I got my cracks for Audition and Photoshop, so don't rely on them for support if the program crashes, but noticed something neat.
Several years ago, they declared a standard that if an Adobe product were archieved and the activation center were discontinued, they would issue a global serial for activation so the end user would not be screwed.
Looks like this is what happened with Audiotion 3.
Got to respect these guys for keeping their word.
