I don't know so many complain when you can easily setup a dummy FB account without it accessing any personal data.
Having said that those that do be aware:
Coupon would like to access your public profile, friend list, email address and birthday.

I would think the $49 purchase of an iLok adds a bit of negativism to a "free" product.

I think the point is moot as requiring an iLok could be easily equated the same as requiring a sound card or daw.

I did that once, I thought I used a totally anonomus email account, but some how it still managed to be able to suggest accurate list of people I might know. Its the work of the devil. I could "like" these companies for freebees as I still have that account but I refuse to touch it.

No, it isn't.

A closer analogy might be requiring an ignition key to drive your car. Except that a) the ignition key benefits me, b) the car manufacturer doesn't make me buy the key separately, c) I can make copies of the key, and d) the ignition key won't suddenly stop working because somebody in Detroit or Tokyo made a boo-boo at their computer.

Yes it is.

Hardly matters either way.
It'a just a promo, you either go for it or pass.

Comparing a device which is little more than a racketeer which fits in a USB slot to anything which provides utility to an end customer is obviously a stretch.

Of course, let's not let iLok distract from the fact that the system of forcing likes on facebook is just plain sleazy.

I use Mach 5 so was already "iLoked". Just downloaded and tried this - this is an excellent package, especially as it is free. There are some very clever tools for adjusting the sounds, which means there is a large variety you can make, if you want to get away from "standard" Tron sounds.
I would have paid for this!
