Here is the PDF file with all the signatures and what you wrote. Please feel free to download and send to Microsoft personnel of your choice. Mind you Bill Gates does not work in Microsoft anymore. So I don’t think its useful to send it to him.

Hi, Jarvse. Happy New Year.

Honestly, based on our previous work together I think you might do REALLY well with Cubase. Apparently their MIDI notation system is top tier which I'd imagine would be really useful to your style of writing. It's a solid program too that most pro/semi-pro users/studios use or have around aside from the hard core Pro Tools guys.

If you haven't already I really do recommend you check it out specifically because of what I think it could do for your personal workflow/writing.

I'm just sticking with SONAR for now and will start learning more about Reaper because as much as I would like Cakewalk/SONAR to be revived somehow it's not looking good... and honestly I think MS would bugger things up WAY worse than Gibson (or Roland) could ever even dream of.

Personally (and I've said this before) I'd rather see the Cockos (Reaper) guys get the code and try to create a SONAR environment within Reaper... or just maintain the program at the least.

That would be up to Gibson though because they own the name and program code as far as I know.

Cheers, dude. Hope you are well.

@Jarvse...

Cool, man. At some point I'll get Cubase but for now I'm getting things done as needed.

The only thing preventing me from actually getting work done is my mangled up body.

Thats sad. Really wish you could have a Health to be able to work all day long.
I have taken a break tho. For now i dont have anything to work on and i have quilt meds so it is a prosess of building myself up without them.

Yes, that's pretty much my situation as well for the past few months. Lots of pain and it has now been officially interfering with my "life" (what little there was left of it) for too many months so I'm gonna have to abandoned that noble, but failing effort.

Good luck, stay aweseome and I hope you can get back to work soon.

Cheers!

1000 signatures is not even a blip on Microsoft's radar.  sorry to be pessimistic, but they'll not even give it a seconds' thought.

I got an answer from Pete Brown!

"Hi Øyvind, thanks for the email. I'm not sure what Gibson has in mind here, but it doesn't appear to include selling off Cakewalk SONAR."
