So I've done virtually no music related stuff for the last couple of months (mainly due to the summer season house decorating projects) - didn't even see the X3 release coming!

But I did watch the French tv series 'Les Revenants', including awesome photography and a sublime soundtrack by Mogwai which now accompanies me on my morning commute.  This is a zombie drama like no other, to the extent that I had to consciously wait a day between each episode just to consider what it was all about. Chaps in Blightly can get it on DVD with subtitles in English, not sure about the rest of the world yet, but seek it out if you can.

Looks like X3 may be on my yule wish-list, but I'll have to think of something to write!

Hi,

WRONG!

Les Revenants is what is on my Christmas wish list. Screw X3!

I did a revenants inspired piece, not sure how much more the show has to offer though, I think the next series is being filmed

Filming early next year from what I understand.  But I tend to agree - the worst thing they could do is try to drag it out into a multi-series thing which is bound to get dull.  I actually wish they'd ended S1 5 minutes early (at the close of the Horde shutters scene, rather than the 'new dawn').  That was pretty creepy.

I'll take a listen to your piece.  The Mogwai soundtrack reminded me of the Goblin glockenspiel motif in Suspiria (that also having a 21st Century remake I think).

If you don't want a spoiler then don't look up what revenants means in French...it doesn't mean returned and it might give you a big clue as to what is going on.

Still a nice atmospheric drama to watch even if you think you know what it's all about!

Italian group called "Goblin" that is still around. Great music for a lot of soundtrax! I think all of them for George Romero films, though his films never used the music that well!
