Actually, just to add (and one reason I'm reticent about migrating to Windows 8) - all my older Cakewalk software runs flawlessly on Win 7 - even as far back as Guitar Tracks 2 which was released over 10 years ago, and Music Creator 24 (2004).
...
I had serious issues (another post on the CH), with W8 and Microsoft Support as their W8 -32 bit version was horrendous, and was not even saving any network settings and not talking to each other (2 machines), and after 9 hours of telephone support, I got tired of the guys from India tinkering and a Linda something/nothing at Microsoft sending me emails that said nothing and did nothing about it! So I filed a complaint with the State Attorney General in the State of Washington.
In the end, I got tired of the 32-bit bullpucky, and redid both machines with the 8-64bit. Have not had any issues with it so far ... and I asked my friend the code specialist, and he goes: "...never use 32bit, it's not even a consideration!"...
STOP using 32bit stuff, because it is just cheap home computer crap?
What I don't know is, if Sonar is good enough for the W8-64bit, and the sentiment in general appears to be a bit strange. But I ask myself this, do all the big name pros use 32bit? And the answer is NO!
