Haven't seen them yet ... have a batch of about 15 foreign films to see first, and hopefully review, including 2 by Werner Herzog!
 
I'm not a great Tarantino fan. He's all copy and no class and too much "top ten" hipness for me to enjoy. This was the case of "Pulp Fiction" and his rips of Godard films were insane, and the sad thing is that no one that I know, including here, has ever seen any of those films to know where it was ripped from. And while on that matter, I kinda thought that Anna Karina was far more attractive than Uma Thurman!
 
The films taken by him, on PF were (English titles for you!): Breathless, A Woman is a Woman, The Little Soldier, Contempt, Alphaville, Pierrot le fou, 2 or 3 Things I Kn ow about her, Weekend and La Chinoise.
 
So, if you ever would like to find out why someone would say this, Godard is insane, crazy, bapu-esque (and then some!), and totally off the wall. He puts music in the wrong place on purpose and asks over the film why would I do that? He doesn't like shots and moves backwards. He plays with the camera and swings it many times during any kind of scene, serious or not. He makes fun of the Hollywood shot/reverseshot that is over used in conversations in films. And he makes fun of other big film makers, like making fun of surrealism, is too much to discuss here. His "King Lear" is one of the most insane, weird, off the wall thing, that makes you wonder if ... all improvisation and fooling around, can actually make a story! Wait, Godard doesn't do stories!

I remember some of the critics writing good blurbs about them. Good performances from all the actors except David Carradine.
Apparently, all he did was hang around.
