Andrew Rossa from Cake has changed the thread title upstairs FWIW. I agree, it was a ridiculous title.

I've been using Sonar products since 2006. I've had a Producer version for about 4 years. I can count the number of times I've posted in that forum upstairs on one finger!. If I can't figure something out myself, I'll consult the Garrigus book, or I'll PM a forum member I respect and get help that way.

Stop PM'ing me Randy.  I don't want your "slightly used trench coat."

No need stop coming in the CH Larry, this is a great community of professional & respectul peeps....(except for me), and you can always avoid going upstairs (which has worked out really well for me). Besides, if you leave, who's going to keep us updated on every single software deal out in plugin land???

Yep, the guys here in the CH are all top notch...
and I greatly appreciate and enjoy the banter here...

We're all entitled to our opinions....the point...at least READ the thread...
then, if you have something to say, say it in a kind and courteous manner..
It's far more appealing, and a lot less childish...

As for Noel changing the thread title...while I do agree the title was not the best,
and may have been misleading, for him to change it seems a little more "gestapo"
which they seem to be doing a lot of...I don't disagree that it didn't sound good..
but if you actually took the time to read it...there was really nothing bad by the OP...
I just think the Mods reading private PM's and changing and locking threads...
for any reason other then a violation of the TOS...is getting out of hand...

I think most of these people, including the staff, need to grow up a little...they (the Cake folk) are starting
to also behave like children protecting their candy...if the product is good enough,
let it stand on it's own...there will always be opposition to a product, that's a given...
look at how much Cake (and many here) hate Steinberg!  Noel completely
berated VST 3....and NOW that they have it...it's the greatest thing since
sliced bread....

And also, many here were WE DON'T NEED THAT...
Now that SONAR has it....it's the BEST THING EVER...even though
others have had it for several years..

Look how many here go into other forums and blast their software...
and yet, it's OK for them to do it...but don't YOU do it....

It's the child with a new toy saying MINE IS BEST MINE IS BEST - and don't you
say anything different...or I'll beat you up (verbally) or lock you out...

Wouldn't it make more sense to say...suit yourself...but I love it!
It's like we've all been taught, or at least should have been, if you
can't say something nice, don't say anything at all....

Let's behave like adults...be courteous, allow free speech that does not violate the
TOS...and respond with courtesy and dignity...

THAT goes a looooooooooong ways...

The manic sensitivity towards perceived criticism of sonar - esp x3 - by many forum participants here is bizarre, not to mention actually detrimental to the product itself. Sonar is lacking some important features if it wishes to compete as an "industry leader" (hate the phrase), but woe to anyone who dares suggest anything substantive in the forums as they are now. Kind of feels like a cult, TBH.

I'm going to keep this brief..

It seems to me that "most" here in this forum, usually the younger guys, but not exclusively,
have a problem with anyone expressing a "point of view" opposite to theirs, and simply
cannot remain objective, or be courteous about it....

We have to realize that "everyone" and "everything" is NOT the same...
that others are entitled to their opinions, every bit as much as you are entitled to yours..

I'm appalled and disheartened by the sincere lack of respect and derogatory comments
that keep popping up in the threads upstairs...and it really makes me want to leave this
forum...

Yesterday, Rain, who I deeply respect, was attacked for expressing the fact that he didn't
like the X Series interface...

Today someone posted info from other forums that talked negatively about X3,
but stated he was excited about X3, etc...and he got bashed for "sharing negative"
information....

The overall CHILDISHNESS of others in this forum is turning me AWAY from Sonar...
If members can't interact in a courteous manner, express thier views in a courteous way
and not be BERATED, then really I see no point in being here or using this software,
regardless of how GREAT it may be...

Professionalism is Professionalism....so be that...not a CHILD, and allow others to express their
opinions freely, just as YOU have the right to do...don't call them names or berate them...

How can you possibly come on here and spout such a lot of old rubbish ? I'm sick to death of people like you........

ha,ha just kidding :)

FWIW, I kind of agree with Sharke too.

Mostly I stay in the CH these days and I don't even like coffee !  Software or Techniques is worth a read generally, but I rarely bother to get too involved with the rest. Songs forum used to be good, but got a bit silly at the back end of last year and turned me off of it. I still lurk there occasionally, hoping that it will get back to what it once was, but hasn't so far.

'Zactly.  Except I refer to Craig Anderton's books, the training videos (which I usually buy) and, if needed, relevant YouTube videos.

This topic and Randy's last sentence are the reasons why I stay down here in the Coffee House (except for the occasional visit to the Songs, Hardware or Software areas of course).
