I totally agree...these are great midi files and...for all I know, this is a good company. But I'm on thin ice...honest...so I'm on the fence. YMMV.

For me one of the best parts is that comes with installers for every Drumpler I own.

That's what pushed me over the edge! Multiple downloads but small and quick.

Is that "Half Time" demo by the same Bill Ward as in Black Sabbath?

$40 seems a bit steep for MIDI grooves, IMHO.

I must admit I was thinking the same but this pack claims 4097 grooves where as Toontracks 25 Euro Monster Midi Packs claims 400 and Groove Monkee's $20 Rock 2 pack 700.

On the face of it at least in terms of quantity this makes the platinum samples pack look better value than either. I only have one of Platinum Samples midi packs so far, the military cadence pack which is excellent and while I bought it with a specific project in mind I found it to be a lot more versatile than I imagined.

Billy Ward, not Bill Ward.

World-reknowned rhythm master Billy Ward began formal drum lessons when he was nine years old. Growing up in the Cincinnati Ohio area, Billy was influenced by all kinds of music from Miles Davis and Charles Mingus to The Who and James Brown. Billy's early drum influences were Elvin Jones, Mel Lewis and Papa Jo Jones.
After leaving North Texas State's music program early, Billy moved to New York where he began working immediately and began to develop his career as a professional musician.
In the past decade, Billy has spent most of his time recording and touring. He has worked with many well known, talented artists such as Bill Evans, Jim Beard, Leni Stern, George Russell, Jimmy Webb, Carly Simon, Richard Marx, Ace Frehley, Joan Osborne, Bill Champlin, Yoko Ono, The Knack, Chris Whitley, John Patitucci and Robbie Robertson. In addition, Billy's playing can be heard on numerous movie soundtracks.
In May of 2000, Billy performed at Modern Drummer Magazine's Festival where he totally impressed and inspired the audience with his musicality and presentation of rhythmic concepts. Billy has also proven himself to be a potent drum clinician and teacher. He currently serves on the advisory board for Modern Drummer Magazine. Check out his frequently running "Concepts" column in M.D. where he imparts musical wisdom and rhythmic ideas for drummers.

I really really rate Platinum Drum Samples - I have quite a few of the different packs and have just purchased this new one plus the real Jazz to get my 15% discount.
The Steve Ferrone pack, IMHO is the BEST midi pack around - and of course you can use it in nearly any drumpler - my only gripe and this is not really aimed at Platinum Samples as it is the same problem with all third party suppliers, is that when you put their midi samples into Addictive Drums, the addictive drums browser is quite poor, and therefore the loops do not display properly and therefore become useless.
I wish the third party supplies and addictive drums would work on this problem - Toontrack is the gold standard when it comes to browsers. Others should look to copy thier method.
Anyway BUY THESE MIDI LOOPS

Same here, the military lib is very useful, the files themselves are excellent.
