An interesting trend here: with the exception of the often-mentioned VRoom, people generally seem to be happiest paying full price for virtual instruments over effects and processors. Is there perhaps a perception that you're getting more for your money buying things that make sound as opposed to things that make them sound better?

I thought Komplete was worth the price. I'm not sure if I agreed with the full price upgrade to Ultimate however, so I only bought that when they offered a large discount. Trilian I bought for full price and think it was worth it.

Making sounds doesn't always equate to making music, especially if it's a synth that I'd use for 2% of the material I write. $500.00 for Omnisphere wouldn't be a wise choice based on that since I already have other usable synths to fit the bill when needed.

On the other hand I'd love to get something like this, budget doesn't allow for it yet.

....as opposed to things that make them sound better?

Is that what I'm supposed to be doing with all those plugs I have?

Sheesh.

It's only $37. What's the problem?

Alchemy.  Some of the alchemy libraries.

Some of the Kontakt libraries - but only if you have the full kontakt since they in player mode they stop after 10 minutes.  Makes it hard ...

Voxengo stuff - the elephant limiter and curve eq which I use during mastering (well, elephant is replaced by hardware now, but I still use it to check the limiting effect while working up a recording).

There are more, I'm sure, but those pop out first.  But of course, you'll never know if you'll use them for full price worth until you buy them.  So get them on sale when you can.

I wish, I'd get it if there were only two 0's, but not 3.

But the three 0's are after the decimal point.

I bought EZdrummer at full price and it was worth it even though it's about half price now a days.  I feel Superior Drummer is the same but I had a different situation for that one.

Melodyne Editor is worth full price.
Reaper is worth full price but it has different licensing deals so it's not an apples to apples comparison.
Studio One is worth full price and I was prepared to do so but I got a competitive upgrade deal.
Samplitude Pro X is worth full price but once again, I found a competitive upgrade.

Although I've drifted away from SONAR, I would say that for a person who coming into the world of the DAW, SONAR is worth paying full price for.

I have Slate, Waves and UAD-2 plugs but I paid discounted prices for those.   I wanted them but was willing to do without them until the deals were made available.
