Looks like still no 64-bit version.  By itself that's not a big deal.  But nearly all my VSTs are 64-bit and so would not be of use in SF.  Also, fortunately there seem to be no new must-have features, for me anyway, so I just saved myself 200 bucks for an upgrade.  Besides which, 200 bucks to upgrade for the previous version?  I'll be happy to pass that one by.  Try harder, Sony, if you want my money!

That looks pretty disappointing.  Even Audition has finally made the leap to 64-bit.  My first thought was "that's it?"

I must admit I didn't read through the details. Sound Forge was one of my absolute favorite apps on the PC and I've missed it quite a bit, so I was curious when it finally was ported but the asking price is prohibitive, especially after dabbling w/ DSP Quattro for a while - which does more for less $.

Eeeh... No 64-bit support? I can't see it anywhere but I somehow refuse to believe it. I love Soundforge and have been abusing it for years. Still do despite the version I have being 32-bit. Hmmmm... I hope it's 64-bit and they forgot to tell us. Anyone downloaded the trial yet?

The Maillard Reaction
I bought Sound Forge 9 to get CD Architect.

Sony annoys me. I just bought Vegas and had to install all the 32 bit plugs that I'd removed. I find it curious but perhaps they know something we don't. I have to admit it runs great on my system although most of my memory gets ignored.

It's "upgrades" like this that lead me to my conclusion in another thread that Sony would totally hose up making Vegas into a DAW. The best parts of Sony audio apps were in place before Sony acquired them .  Considering all but the third party plugins have been around since the mid 90's, my confidence of them innovating anything in that department is very low. You know an upgrade sucks when the highlights include light versions of other software and bragging how well it works with another one of your products.

btw, i got the email offering the upgrade for $$150. Still not worth it

The latest version of Vegas is 64 bit.  DVD Architect is still 32 bit.  Would be nice if they upgrade the rest of the programs.
