The Band19
Doesn't say it works w/XP.

It's only supported on Win7 / 8.
I had it working on Vista 64 before I got my new DAW, and I have seen reports that it works on XP but I guess the risk is with you if there are problems.

Cakewalk, Native Instruments and FXpansion all droping support for OS earlier than Win 7 brought forward my purchase of a new DAW by half a year.

Bit - thanks for the background info - I suppose as long as the compressed samples dont degrade the performance, then I understand their position, saves us a bit of space too.

Sharke - I've only had the software for a couple of days, but I can already appreciate the size
of the package I could easily spend a year just messing about(no change there then), so thanks for the tip about Groove3

I got mine last wed and have been playing mostly with the West Africa Library. that's a nicely structured program...I think I will check out that groove 3 video I use such a small portion of these programs. but I am slowly understanding all the ins and outs that confused me for so long

I'm probably chiming in a little late, but then I purchased K5 several months ago when NI offered it for half price - in fact I thought it was even cheaper than that, I recall paying only around 100 GBP for it. It's a 'must have' I think, particularly because there is so much free and cheap content available for it. Plus the supplied content is pretty good. And it's solid, haven't had any glitches (albeit I use Reaper having abandoned Sonar years ago).
