I haven't had a reason to fart around with the custom shop yet, but the chance to snag a Dr. Z sim would be nice. Brad Paisley sure makes 'em sound purdy.

I've had a subscription to Guitar Player for as long as I can remember and the Z amps get reviewed in that magazine from time to time. They usually get a GP Editors Pick award. Not cheap, that's for sure. I am fine with IK modeling boutique amps that I probably won't be able to afford. Because for $30-35, then I can. What matters most to me is tone. If they can model it with accuracy and it sounds really good, that is a win for me. Another plus is that if the amp model is accurate, I might find that I like it and seek out the real amp, possibly buy it.

When ever I demo the newest releases from IK, they just seem to be getting better and better. The Orange Collection has some fabulous modeled tones in it

Keep on perfecting modeling IK and keep on modeling for tone.

I got frustrated with Samplitube and don't use it any more.  I hate having to constantly jump around to different screens to see/edit FX.

I'm a guitar player. I don't own or even need Samplitube. How does a guitar thread turn into an "IK owes me a new version of Samplitube" thread? I have been very happy with the quality and support from IK with Amplitube and T-Racks.

...and Dr.Z amps are very famous indeed. My HD500 has a model called Phd Motorway which I don't care much for. I was more excited for the new IK pedals. I'm going to try to keep to my VST rehab plan this time and wait for the Christmas sales. My 4 new Fab Filter plugins have made me poor!

Ok, I'm confused....didn't you just respond to your own quote.

Yoropal,

Did you pick up the OCD Overdrive as well? Curious to know how that sounds as I am a fan of the hardware OCD stomps. Excited to hear that you like the MAZ 18. I have a feeling that I am going to really like this amp sim. I am waiting until I have some free time and can take advantage of the 72 hr time trial to really test it out. That includes making sure that I have some funds set aside for purchasing it when I am .... Weak willed.
