Stopped at Guitar Center this pm to grab strings and picks and couldn't resist having a quick look around. While I was once again drooling over Les Paul's, my wife brought my attention to a SG she liked:

Some of you might remember my recent attempt at finding an inexpensive SG as a second guitar after a lifetime of having virtually no interest for the model - which ended up w/ me buying a Les Paul Traditional Pro that quickly became my main axe.
Anyway, I tried that one this afternoon and loved it. Contrarily to Gibson, Epiphone's so-called 60s neck refer to thicker/fatter necks, which I prefer quite a bit. Felt right the minute I grabbed it, unlike the other SGs I'd tried.
I'm guessing that if that one had been there in July, it'd probably be here in the studio since, even though I'm not too crazy about the finish. No regret though, because the LP turned out to be my favorite guitar ever, and its stock pick-ups are terrific.
But now I know there's at least on SG that's right for me out there...
