Stopped at Guitar Center this pm to grab strings and picks and couldn't resist having a quick look around. While I was once again drooling over Les Paul's, my wife brought my attention to a SG she liked:

Some of you might remember my recent attempt at finding an inexpensive SG as a second guitar after a lifetime of having virtually no interest for the model - which ended up w/ me buying a Les Paul Traditional Pro that quickly became my main axe.

Anyway, I tried that one this afternoon and loved it. Contrarily to Gibson, Epiphone's so-called 60s neck refer to thicker/fatter necks, which I prefer quite a bit. Felt right the minute I grabbed it, unlike the other SGs I'd tried.

I'm guessing that if that one had been there in July, it'd probably be here in the studio since, even though I'm not too crazy about the finish. No regret though, because the LP turned out to be my favorite guitar ever, and its stock pick-ups are terrific.

But now I know there's at least on SG that's right for me out there...

Unfortunately, there's no real cure for GAS.

I guess so... And I thought I was cured.

I only wanted my Marshall DSL15C.
And to upgrade my old POD 2 to a XT.
And a little acoustic guitar.
And tighter pick ups for my black Les Paul.

And maybe to butcher my old strat and turn it into something like Eddie's first Frankenstrat, minus the classic EVH paint job, obviously. Saw one at Hard Rock Café here last week and it's been bothering me since...

But beside that I was cured, man... :P

And I'm also curious to hear one of those Fender Mustang amp thingie... I've just seen that they had floorboards, and the little amp looks lovely too. :/

The only cure for GAS will be dementia for me, I'll simply forget that I wanted more!

Did you use it to record any of the material on your SoundClick or RN page?

No, not yet. I've been in an Alex Rodriguez-type slump for months.

I like the silver burst Rain.

I don't know why Gibson didn't make the SG a neck-through design.
If I made one I would.
Maybe it's because with the neck pup pocket and thin body just not much meat left.
Neck-through, bridge pup only- problems solved and a rockin axe. Just a thought.
