Custom Color? Can you change the background color of a clip? Or is it just the color of the waveform?

In other words can I set all the wave forms to the same dark color like black and then have each clips' background set as the color I enjoy or do I only get to change the color of the waveform while the background stays some pre defined color?

Thanks.

best regards,
mike

I tried the color changes and they flopped. Some worked and some didn't, much like it was on 2a. Perhaps I got it wrong and need to try again, but I still like the Duckbar program more.

I just watched a video about color customization suggesting that the track view "header backgrounds", console view "strip backgrounds", and "waveforms" can all be synced to the same color. I assumed it was speaking about X3.

I don't want to change the "header backgrounds" or the "strip backgrounds" or the "waveform" colors ( that's what you do in Pro Tools but I find it distracting, perhaps even gratuitous ) I just want to change the actual clip back ground colors like I've done with SONAR for years and years.

I want to have all my waveforms the same color so my mind can see them as a stacked meter on the vertical axis. Having waveforms separated into different colors looks cute... but it doesn't mind meld the way it does for me in SONAR 8.5.

It seems like Cakewalk copied one of Pro Tools less sophisticated features and has not restored the color tools flexibility to a point where it matches the sophistication of SONAR 8.5 or earlier.

I hope I am wrong and just need to learn more about the new features.

I'm lost! As usual!

So, now, Cakewalk is about the colors and not the sound the program can help you put together?

I have to tell you I REALLY needed a program to do photos with, and Photoshop has priced itself out of reality!

I wonder if I use color, my bass will sound better ... still looking for that sound (Caravan - For Girls that Grow Plump in the Night) ... but never thought it was a color! Hawkwind's 8th, 9th and 10th cuts on "Electric Tepee" is also good for a sound I like ... but I never thought of color!

Music IS color.

We are a visual species.

If we weren't we'd all be looking at Cyan based screens like in the 80s.
