FWIW, I think of music as ephemeral sculpture that you can experience as a form of environmental immersion.

I think Mosh and I speak about stuff differently but actually have more in common than it seems.

I imagine that the difference we do have is that I think that disciplined competency leads to moments of creative flow and Mosh seems to tap into flow using a different worm hole.

I'll bet I'd enjoy drinking coffee and chatting it up with Mosh and we'd figure out all the stuff we have in common. :-)

I'd probably figure out what his favorite color is too. :-)

Custom Color? Can you change the background color of a clip? Or is it just the color of the waveform?

In other words can I set all the wave forms to the same dark color like black and then have each clips' background set as the color I enjoy or do I only get to change the color of the waveform while the background stays some pre defined color?

Thanks.

best regards,
mike

I believe in X2a I was able to change the background color of a clip. I just never saw a "global" color setting clip backgrounds so I think it was on a track by track on a project basis.

In X3 I can only seem to do that. Unless they name global clip background color something obtuse.

HTH.

Music IS color.

We are a visual species.

If we weren't we'd all be looking at Cyan based screens like in the 80s.

Yeah! The 80s were SO unvisual, eh?

btw, I know you can still change the colors as before. Just poke around abit and you'll see it somewhere.

You can also IMPORT a colorset from X2 or before and see what changes.

(soory, no can help better. no have x3 yet.)

In X2, you can select a different background colour for every track in multiples of 10; i.e. whatever colour you choose for Track 1 will be repeated on Tracks 11, 21 etc:

You can do exactly the same for the foreground (i.e. the waveform) in the same way.

In X2, my colour scheme (to aid my poor contrast eyesight) was to have dark blue as the foreground colour for all tracks, pale yellow for the background of unselected tracks, and light blue as the background for the selected track:

As far as I can tell in X3, although you can still choose the foreground colours as in X2, the background colour of unselected tracks cannot be changed, there is only the option to choose the background colour for the selected track:

Carrying on with my high contrast theme, I currently have the selected clip set to a rather garish red, which does seem to work OK:

Do you know where the colour presets are stored?

I was going to try and import my X2 scheme but I'm buggered if I can find where they are.
