Disconnect FA-66.  Uninstall drivers.  Then reinstall driver WITHOUT connecting the FA-66 to the computer. Only connect it when the driver install asks you to.

I have the same problem, it works? In my case I did
"Disconnect FA-66.  Uninstall drivers.  Then reinstall driver WITHOUT connecting the FA-66 to the computer. Only connect it when the driver install asks you to. " and still not work.

Hi Guys,

Sorry to hear of your install issues. Hopefully, these instructions will get the FA-66 working for you:

Hi Guys,

I got the same problem with my FA-66. I'am running Win 7 64bit and am trying to install 64bit FA-66 driver on my comp. I keep getting that installation window where is says: "please wait for the moment, setup will automatically start preparing for use of FA-66"

I don't know what to do. I've tried to install the vista drivers, but i didn't work.

Please help.

Same problem here: New Cakewalk FA-66 will not/cannot install in Win7 64bit. Installation hangs on the same screen as these other users. Tried six times, each time carefully uninstalling/rebooting, each time taking care to connect only when prompted. Please don't make me send this thing back and write off Edirol like I just did MOTU.
