Can't even look at Facebook or any of my favorite tech blogs without being bombarded by Breaking Bad hysteria.

Alright, so I don't watch TV. Can't stand it, I just fall asleep. But I appreciate that a lot of people do and that maybe this "Breaking Bad" is a great show.

But come on, does that really justify the outright hysteria associated with the showing of each episode? Not only do I have multiple Facebook friends quivering with excitement and posting about their anticipation, but also most of the blogs who I subscribe to on Facebook are posting nothing but BB stuff....memes, montages, stupid countdowns-on-the-hour...even though they are blogs that have nothing to do with TV.

Quite frankly I'm worried. It it really healthy to get this excited about TV? And that everyone's excited about the same show?

Never watched it, but this is the FINAL show so you can always expect more talk by those that loved it.

Yup, hysteria is well deserved. Its a great show, compelling story, amazing acting and we are at the grand finale tonight. I'm recording it on DVR to watch later tonight or tomorrow on my day off.

At the very least, I like to pretend this is all Pre Malcolm in the Middle and like to think Walt ends up escaping and then fathering Malcom and his 3 other misfit brothers... :D

Very good show, one of the few I watch. Seems like I don't have many friends watching it as no one mentions it. Fortunately because we buy it on iTunes, so we're always a few days behind. They had a frickin' brutal episode recently so they'll have quite a job if they want to top that.

I did however have to put up the reactions to the last episode of Dexter. Man, people were pissed! Since it's on HBO, we won't be able to even begin watching this last season before a while, and I already know that I'm likely to be totally disappointed by the finale. That being said, it was unlikely that Dexter would end pleasantly.

I hate to think that one of my favourite - if not my absolute favourite series - will end with such a let down. Maybe I shouldn't even watch season 8...

I never got into Dexter, just didn't enjoy it as much as Breaking Bad. But I love those types of shows, loved Weeds and The Wire.

From the spoilers I heard about Dexter, I'd be pissed too.

I don't know why, but these days I can only watch something if it's funny. Actually I've been like that for years. I just don't feel the "excitement" of drama and cannot take it seriously. TV itself I could never watch because of all the commercials, trailers and other BS that just makes me want to gouge my eyes out. So I have a Netflix subscription and use it to watch maybe one comedy show per day. I know it sounds kinda cheesy but for ages now the one show I've watched every day is Cheers. I live for the cheap shots that Cliff and Carla take at each other. I think I'm up to around season 5 now and even though I'm sure I watched all of these as a kid, most of them I can't remember so it's been great. When I'm done with Cheers I'll probably go back in time a bit and watch Taxi

Well, they are now

I'm happy to say that I don't even know what it is or what channel it's on, so all the talk/hype just flies over my head.

The only thing I know about Breaking Bad is that it's an anagram of Baking Bread.

Which is nice.

It's a good show. I'm actually surprised that it generated such hype - almost as if kids started wearing Charlie Parker t-shirts and traded their Katy Perry records for Van der Graaf Generator albums. :s

I guess they've been told it was awesome...

Hi,

It's a good thing that TV and Film Studios now have social media to make you believe something is good. Pretty soon, they will have you convinced that it is a wonderful and outstanding pile of steaming heap ... and you believe in it, because of the social media!

Gawd ... how right the Firesign Theater was about that one door! ... "it's a really good pile of steaming heap"
.

And that is the sad part of advertising and the media ... you think that it is good, simply because of the bruhaha ... and tomorrow no one will remember it!
