joakes

I actually mailed the support address and got a reply from Paavo a few hours later.

You have to follow a link to get a coupon. Then when you buy HB you input the coupon reference ang get your discount. Phew !

Cheers,
Jerry
Same experience here.

Also, the login for the download is a bit confusing.  Login name is your real name (Not your email address),  and who would think that "Customer ID" is actually the order number from the invoice?  Tried a few combinations before I hit on the right one.  Is it too much to ask for the "order number" to be called, well, the order number?!

Finally, am I correct that the Windows download is only in 32 bit?  (In addition to a 32bit demo, that was all I saw for Windows in the DLs area.  On the OSX side, there seems to only be a 64 bit release).  I haven't read all of the forum threads, so maybe there's some technical explanation for this, and I'm just out of the loop...?

I contacted tech support and was told this, "One other point to make note of. There is no difference in the DSP in 32
bit and 64 builds. It's exactly the same, being 64 bit floating point
arithmetic data paths.

cheers,

Paavo."

I can't wait to get the upgrade!!!!

Jerry , this link of which you speak , Was it sent to you in the support reply?
I see nothing on the web site, I also sent support a message but have received nothing
yet, thanks,

I'm not Jerry, but Ican answer your question.

If you didn't receive an email with the upgrade info (and it seems that quite a few didn't - myself included - then you need to contact Harbal tech support.  I got a response, with the appropriate links, within 12 hrs.

If you do email them, obviously be thorough and provide your name, email address and order number (of your original Har-bal order, if you have it).

In the response I got, it was suggested that my spam filter deleted the first email, as my email address did indeed match their records.

Since I've never before seen this behavior with my spam filter, and given the number of folks here who still haven't gotten their emails, I believe the problem is with their email delivery system.

In the next few days, when they're inundated with requests from registered users, maybe they'll realize this.

My harbal works well? Why should I spend the money for the upgrade?

My harbal works well? Why should I spend the money for the upgrade?

It's a major upgrade for a piece of software that you like, and it's only $30.  You'll have the current version and you'll be supporting a talented software developer.

Did I mention it's only $30?

If you're struggling financially, then, obviously save your money.  Otherwise, see if there's a demo and just try it out.

And, no, you might not need it, but it's very possible that the new features can make your mixing/mastering easier or more enjoyable.

It's up to you whether or not you think that's worth $30.
