I may well not buy X3 either, but not because I have a grudge against a new owner. Unless there are some really useful new features in MIDI and softsynth technology, I probably already have as much Sonar as I will ever use. I have long ago given up on notation. Things like pitch correction and loop construction are useless to me, and most of the audio processing plugins are almost useless for someone who primarily uses a microphone for sampling. DAW software is rapidly reaching the point that office suites hit with Office 2000. New "innovations" are pretty much not applicable to the work they are meant to do. Will Sonar X3 have an associated cloud account?
And here I thought I was being sarcastic.

Can someone help me find a midi/softsynth feature I did not already get by buying every upgrade since before Pro Audio?
Lounge Lizard guitar emulation---why not just use samples if you want to make a computer sound like an physical instrument?
Tassman would have been an interesting AAS product, but not to me since I already own it.
