Not to worry, I'm not someone who holds it against people who don't realize the world revolves around me. 
 

I do know, because I have Roland midi units, that it is easy enough to save/recall presets and make notes in a project about them.
 

 
For the most part either doing that or using midi program changes is much easier than playing with sysex. The one exception is if someone makes lots of minor edits to presets for different projects and doesn't want to save a bunch of minor variations of the same preset.
 

Well nothing as been presented to suggest that there is anything other than that unit and that company that is offering that feature.

Actually I remembered that Lexicon had something similar some years back (2006) - HW FX with a VST interface:

Earlier you made a statement that I took as " PT could do that because the host and hardware is theirs"....now apparently Lexicon did it without that reasoning, if I'm on track.
 
Again, this feature of the host "tied" to hardware is nothing I can really use but it sure makes me wonder why we're not seeing a lot more of it.
Maybe there is a lot more of it and there's just not a stage performing member base here that would
know more about it.  ?
 
I spent a lot of time and effort getting rid of hardware and sure don't care to backtrack.

This sort of thing has long been possible with a lot of midi HW, but it could be so tedious as to not be worth doing. It sounds like they may have integrated it nicely for the user. Of course they can do that because they control all the pieces, but what about 3rd party HW?

Maybe you meant it different than how I took it -but it's no biggy. It seem to make sense to me no more than I know about it.
