Well I think you guys are great people, and I think the forum is a lot more fun when this type of stuff doesn't come up. I'm guilty of expressing my opinion. I'll say no more.

I have a friend in the MIT math department who says it is bollocks too. Just the statistical methodology is dodgy. He says it is a racket.

Perhaps you have an academic citation for this?
 
When I searched for papers questioning the statistical methodology of climate change on scholar.google.com nothing jumped out at me suggesting that it is a racket, but it is of course entirely possible I missed it.

Of course global warming is real just look at how many millions Al Gore is making off of it. Capitalism is a wonderful thing.

Whether or not Al Gore is getting rich off global warming has nothing whatsoever to do with the science that bolsters the theory. Al Gore does not have the global scientific community in his pocket. This is conspiracy theory at its worst. And having a friend in the math department in any university on planet earth who is a denier means "statistically" less than nothing...see what I did there? The overwhelming majority of folks whose job it is to study this particular niche of SCIENCE say it's so. I, for one, am not equipped with the evidence to gainsay them. Again I ask you fellers..are you?
