I'm not recommending the product, but this is definitely a huge reduction in cost. Anyone know if this product is any good?--sure has a huge sample library it comes with.

You won't find more usable sounds anywhere else for forty bucks. Big library. Lots of klunkers in there but enough gems to make it worthwhile. 32-bit but should bridge OK.

I only have the free version of ST, but do have almost all the other synths. ST is pretty good when you layer the sounds and add some (included) fx. The sounds just need a little "massaging" to sit well in a track bed. The sounds are old, but are very use-able for rock, jazz, blues, funk, hip-hop, techno etc....
Hope your eyesight is really good as the gui has really tiny text, but the good thing is all the synth libraries for Miroslav, Sonik Synth, Sample Moog, Sample Tron etc...can be loaded into Sample Tank.

Of course, we're all waiting for Sample Tank 3 as the current version hasn't had any updates (I think) since 2010, but it's supposed to be released this year???

Best is to try out the free version of ST and see if it's worth getting the full version.

It's all about the sound libraries, really.
I got the free version years ago, and liked it. I sprung for the 2.5XL in a group buy a while back. No regrets.
Yeah, as Bit noted, there are a few klunkers, but for the most part it is very usable, and it responds nicely to controller input.
The default colors make me feel like my eyes are bleeding, so I changed that to something much more comfortable.

Yeah, it is amazing how well the patches fit in a mix. The GUI is a disaster but if you can get past it you will be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks all. Maybe I'll mess with the demo before buying it.

SampleTank 3 is expected later this year. Til then this is probably one of the lowest prices you'll see it til the release

Yeah, I agree about the GUI.  I changed the color to a shade of green that is probably uglier but it is easier to read.

I had to jump on the eSoundz deal and pick up a couple of add-on packs with it.  I had already purchased Sonik Synth 2 and Sample Moog with similar deals, so I have a few of the add-on packs as well.  Pretty good stuff that does fit into a mix pretty well.  Looking forward to SampleTank 3... if and when...
