There's 2 days left for this sale, basically half price.

Any thoughts, opinions - the good, the bad, & the ugly?

what 2 day sale?

Plugindiscounts.com has Alloy 2 priced at $125.00 all the time.

I don't have an opinion, I don't own it.  isotope Nectar, while priced higher also has some of the same features.  Not sure why they have essentially 2 plugins that do mostly the same things.

I got an email that said 'Loyalty Sale' for $99.00 instead of $199.00. Good 'til July 11.

I have Ozone 4 and upped it to 5 a few months ago.

Yeah, why would they make 2 that do almost the same thing? Seems a bit odd.

I have nectar, alloy and ozone and they are not alike at all. Alloy is better for multiple use on individual tracks whereas Ozone is better suited to mastering.
Nectar is more like vvocal and melodyne.

I have all 3 as well - got them some time ago at a special three for one sort of sale.
Ozone I use all the time
Nectar - mainly for vocals on demos
Alloy I hardly use - I had sort of "forgotten" this - shall have to exhume!!

Apparently some use Ozone instead or in place of Alloy, even though Ozone is more for Mastering.

Anyone do that?

I have Alloy 2 and Ozone 5 advanced. I use both but, I have used Alloy 2 less since I purchased Ozone 5 advanced because the separate modules in Ozone 5 advanced can be placed in individual tracks without eating up too many resources.

I think they both have their place and it is a nice pair of tools to have available when the need arises.

Kind regards,
Rick

Ozone is a resource hog even if you only have one of the modules turned on, making it less than suitable for use on individual tracks. In fact even just having it on the master track can overload things if you have a lot of VSTi's playing, unless your audio buffers are cranked way up. I see it as something to slap on the master bus once you've bounced everything to audio.

Good info. Thanks Buds.

For comparison sakes, does anyone use Wavelab for mastering instead of Ozone? Wavelab 8 is out now.
