Think I have all the waves stuff I need. I would like the SSL bundle but even the last month when it's been on sale the price is just.. Wrong.

The responsiveness and the gui for most of their plugs just feels ancient compared to Companies like FabFilter.

S1 is a great tool for "psycho-acoustic" widening and skewing....it's a very handy tool...
Surprisingly, most of the stuff in the NPP are quite useful in the proper situation, even though they are "older" plugins...

The Waves API, SLL, and Neve, are probably the best "console" emulations out there...and the interfaces look just like what they
are....with X2 and VCC, you only get "very limited" functionality..while, with the Waves you get the Channel Strip EQ, and the Buss Compressors...
which makes a HUGE difference....and is REALLY what is required to "emulate" a console.

Granted, the "older" plugin interfaces could use an update, but they are still very good and useful plugins...
The "Renaissance" series is still widely used by the Pros...

While others may have really nice "GUI'S"  I, personally, am not buying a GUI, I'm buying a "tool" and what get's me there
the BEST and EASIEST way....so, I guess that's a matter of preference...while an awesome GUI (like Sonar has) is great,
if it "lacks" what you "need" then it means nothing...it's just another "pretty face".

I, personally love my Waves plugins....and I find the S1 very very useful...but that's just me...

i use rennaissance on a regular basis....
rcomp, rverb being the most used....

i like maxxbass, and that's pretty old....
even the venerable ole L1 gets a LOT of use on my mixes.....

almost never use S1, really never come across a scenario that i would want or need it

i use L2 for mastering, along with a few choice others

I got the Renn bundle a while back at one of the no brainer sale thingys.  And I continue to be amazed at how useful several of the plugs are.  As said above, they might be a little long in the tooth...but so are the 1176 and the LA2A...but they get the job done very well.

Got my coupon to be delivered...so now we'll see if there's anything WAVES I can't live without tomorrow.

The Renn collection is just plain good all around.
I'll use S1 on Room & OH to center & make the field a bit less. I'll adjust the balance of the snare on those 2 also which is typically a bit left.

I got two notifications from AD about the sale and requesting me to sign up for my discount code...one to my personal email account and one to my business email account. Wonder if this means I can use two coupons as well?

I hope so, the same happened here and I will need two licenses of anything Waves I buy...

Just curious if anyone is using MAXX BASS and what they think of it.

Kind regards,
Rick

I am just realizing that they are selling power pack for $129.00... cheaper than S1 all by itself.
