I hear you, ol pal. But let's say someone (hypothetically speaking

) has been thinking of getting into UAD but hasn't until now. It seems like a decent deal, doesn't it? Look at the Solo -- for less than what Waves SSL has ever sold for, you can have a universally (heh) admired channel strip, plus the ability to demo UAD's plugins, which of course is impossible unless you have the hardware.
The thing that's a bit weird with UAD is the price difference between the Solo and Duo cards. Why is the Duo more than twice as expensive? Seems like the better deal (assuming you have the space in your PC) is to get two Solo cards, each with a free $300 plugin (if you already have the 88RS, you get a $300 coupon instead). So in case you go gaga over UAD and run out of DSP power, you could just get the second card. What could go wrong?
Cheers,
Eddie
