I'm just now finishing up mixing the 16 track bar recording I made on 6/22/2013. It's a long recording and I worked hard on it. Many of you helped me along the way, and I'm really grateful.

I love making these tapes, and every one of them is a special and unique opportunity.

Thanks for helping me make something I'm proud of!

Best to the group...

Nice of you to say, Leadfoot. I know a lot of the guys here could do a great deal better, but it's the best I could do at this time for the amount of time I had to spend on it.

:-)

I'm hoping the band will appreciate it. I've been holding out sharing it with them until I got a little closer to finished.

You know the funny thing is that I mixed another band playing Little By Little some years ago, and that mix came out so much better IMHO than the current one. Is it possible that year after year I'm getting worse at this?

Nah, there's just so many variables when you're recording live. I think it's really cool that you've waited till it's done to share it with the band. They ought to like it a lot!

The Maillard Reaction
Thanks for the links.

I listened to a bunch of the songs. I mainly picked out the old favorites.

The mixing an production sounds great. It seems like you honored the bands sound as you mixed it without any unnecessary "mixologist" flourish. You can easily hear how good each player and the singers are.It sounds like a great snapshot in time.

It kind of left me thinking that the band will sound really super if they make the time to have you produce them and coach them through a multi track process.

Good times!

best regards,
mike
