In my travels I came across this magazine (and publisher). A bit old (2013) but it provides a good conceptual overview of the DAW landscape and still very relevant (esp to noobs / novices and those wishing to confirm / hone what they've practised).

It's available on Zinio (Digital / download) and in Print  ... for a price, too.

The site/guide is part of Alchemedia Publishing who are behind the Australian Audio Technology, AV and other magazines - also seemingly freely available on Issuu to current issues.
