i've been searching for a pretty long time now for a way to setup a loop filtering FX-bus in Sonar but haven't found a solution since now.
What i'm trying to do: I want to install a FX-bus that provides a special delay effect. On the bus i install two insert effects: One delay with exact one feedback and an EQ or filter after it. The Eq shapes the sound of the delay signal, let's say with a bandpass filter. After that the signal is feeded back into the delay. By doing this the produces delays get more and more filtered as they progress through the bus. It gives a very nice and pleasing effect on vocals with strong delay amount. You can do it other DAWs but in Sonar i found no way to do this and i did even found no delay plugin which is able to filter the feedback singnal by itself befor it is processes again.
Does anybody has an idea how to achive this in sonar or even knows a good plugin which can do this?

Come to think of it, any delay with a filter and feedback setting will do this. Most actually will do this.

i will check melda and fab. Most delays with a filter and a feedback setting don't do it - as far as i checked it. The problem is that the signal led back through the feedback is not beeing filtered. Only the signal leaving the delay plug-ins is going to be filtered. For example H-Delay. Every loop sounds the same with the same amount of filtering adjusted. The idea is that consecutive delays get more and more filtered...

That's not true about H-Delay. The filter is applied before the feedback, along with ant modulation you have enabled.

I'm back into the studio right now.. i will give it a try. Maybe i was wrong.... i'll Report...

I will say that the H-Delay manual doesn't explicitly state that this is so, but that is how it sounds to my ears, and Waves claims that they modeled it on the PCM42, which does work this way. PSPAudioware also has the PSP42 and PSP85 which are also based on the PCM42.

i've tested both: Fab and H-Delay. Yes, you are right. If you listen very closely you can hear the continuous filtering. It is not as obvious as in Timeless 2, but i think it's because of the lo-fi switch that attenuates some hi frequencies that i carved out. But in the end, it's doing what i want. I find Timeless a little more flexible at the end so it's my choice for buying. After all it's also a little bit cheaper ;-).  Thanks for the pointing me in the right direction.

Ok, the possibility to do a little bit of resonance peaking in timeless really brings out the effect even more. One more point for Timeless 2.

I would agree that it is subtle. Timeless is almost a synth unto itself, lol. They are both great in the proper circumstance.
