  • How about... a suggestion for the transition team

Seems that a lot of people are visiting this site to see if there has been any change.

Given the reluctance to use the email addresses that Cakewalk already have, how about creating one that we can subscribe to to receive updates?

Fact is that even those who are now moving to other DAWs need to know about any changes to the way that software is downloaded, installed and licensed as well as wanting to know what might be salvaged i.e. whether Adaptive Limiter and Pro Channel might become available as VSTs to use in other DAWs.

I'm sure a facility like this would be good for these forums and reduce the adversarial discussions that are becoming a major feature.

I like that idea.

I like the idea too, but no further development means just that. There will be no Adaptive Limiter update or Pro Channel VST release etc. I imagine the forum, CCC etc will remain active for at least the next year to fulfill service to customers who paid for a product just before Cake closed down.

If you're serious, the sad an answer is "yes".  CW is now defunct.  :-(

I am dead serious. I was totally unaware. Just purchased SONAR a couple of months ago after being on a hiatus for more than 10 years. Have been with Sonar since version 1 until 6 and now just recently purchased it again (2017).
This really ruined my day...

I understand there will be no development but if something does change, for example someone does buy Cakewalk from Gibson, then it would be nice to to be told. My personal theory is that the VSTs will be resurrected by someone.

If anyone buys Cakewalk from Gibson then we will definitely be told. If any of the other theoretical possibilities happen, then we will be told.

Until then, we've already been told everything that we can be.

Please continue further discussion in the CH,  the Sonar forum is for Sonar support.  (No, discussion of the future of Cakewalk/Sonar doesn't count as support)

What would be nice is a LOCKED sticky at the top that contains the information needed. It's impossible to sort that out in the Announcement thread. Nobody is going to read all those pages looking for info.
Neil has said a lot of important things over the last couple of months but those tidbits are spread over dozens of threads which of course I'm one of the few who reads most of the threads.

I've read most of the thread...  I will admit I skimmed over a bit, but there's nothing new that I'm aware of that isn't in the OP.  Specifically the FAQ linked in the OP.

I will go through the thread and see if I can come up with an alternative that is more concise, but I doubt it...
