I shall do as you ask and set aside silliness, nonsense and tomfoolery. Instead, I shall devote myself to serious and somber contemplation.
When picking my nose, I sometimes dig at a particularly recalcitrant, deeply lodged nodule of mucus. Upon dislodging this boulder of nasal haggis, I may inadvertantly release a stream of blood. While I am pleased with the successful removal a large congealed mass, I greet the ensuing bloodflow with somewhat less enthusiasm. After spending a few minutes holding a series of paper towels against my face, the gaping wound will eventually clot and seal itself shut.
At that point, I find it frustrating that my airflow is still impaired by numerous dried chunks of mucus and blood. Mining these offending lumps may reopen the nasal gash, but it must be done. Once all is said and done, numerous bloody paper towels have been discarded, and the nasal passages have been cleared, I still find one fact disheartning. The blood soaked boogers do not have the same flavo(u)r as their mucus-only counterparts.
