Lead, I've managed to save every project done on the PortaOne. I've even got 99% of all my ADAT projects into SONAR too and in most cases I have the MIDI that was sync'd via the BRC using Voyetra Sequence Plus Gold (which I have a running copy of too).

Man, I wish I would have had the foresight to save my stuff. Good thinking Bap. You'll have to share when you get some the way you like it!

I even have all of the projects I did for my son and his four or five bands who recorded in my stuido from the 80s until the 90s.

Recently I did a bass track on one of his songs where his bass player was less than acceptable. Kind of a Natalie & Nat moment in reverse.

It's good that you saved all that. Now it's "unforgettable". ;)

So it's less less than acceptable now, more or less?

Poor struggling wannabe musicians like myself couldn't afford that stuff. ;)

I couldn't either, I was just sitting around not doing much of anything and someone gave it to me. These days I refer to it as my Rain moment. ;)

Can the resurgence of Edison wire recorders be far behind? Sheesh!

You might be onto something there. If noisy, distorted, limited bandwidth and limited functionality = Vintage, there may indeed be a market. But why stop at wire recorders? Maybe it's time for wax cylinders and acoustical amplification to make a comeback. Or UAD could just make an emulation.

Look who's turned 50 today:

I read that hipsters are making it hip again. :s

I  taped a lot of my roomate's show in Santa Barbara, because of all the imports and foreign music and thing, and the Maxell 120's and TDK 120's lasted all the way until about 2005, when I finally put them all on mp3 highest quality possible.

I do need someone to help teach me how to clean a couple of those shows, otherwise the quality is very good.

So you know the stuff lasted more than 30 years ... and are alive and well.

I remember looping beats for my own custom Mixtapes. Then the internet became a thing and they started collecting dust.
