A new iLok License Manager similar to Waves cloud.
Installed & opened a project w/o any problems (so far)

Yup...here also.  BUT...it doesn't, as yet, show any of my new licenses from Softube.  I expect that may take a day or so.  We'll see.

Seems more "professional" compared with what they had going before.

I'm a little confused though. Can we now transfer iLok licenses to our computer or store them on a cloud account ala Waves?

It seems that transfers between users has been made much easier which is very nice.

yoropal: whenever I have bought softube stuff they have sent me an email to say the licenses have been placed in my iLok account. They might be a bit slower than normal because of this sale. Fingers crossed for you here that they arrive at the right destination. Not a nice feeling waiting on people half the world away when you have put your money on the table.

I would be so mad if I paid good money for a plugin that I can not use right away and have to wait days because the company has to do maintance . Ilok is evil !! I would never buy or support any company that decided to go with the devil .

I agree.

I use ILok out of necessity - not choice - I'd be well pi$$ed off if I was in your shoes 'ol pal

They'd be a size too big...................

IIRC Softube & a few retailers don't work or send emails over the weekend anyway.

Well, the new iLok client isn't working for me yet.  Keeps telling me the server is down, no internet connection, etc.

To see if anyone else was in the same boat, I just checked GS and what do you know ... a veritable sh*tstorm of complaints about the new client disabling existing iLok licenses!  Probably a good thing I couldn't get it to work, as my licenses still function within my DAW.  But I can't download any new licenses until things get straightened out within iLok's secret lair.  So, I have one thing to say to those of you who distrust iLok:

You were right.

Cheers,
Eddie

P.S.  I'm sure this will get sorted out soon, but there are many professionals out there who currently can't work with their usual tools.  I'd be EXTREMELY upset if that happened to me.  Zero down time, indeed!  Har har.

Actually they'd be a size or two too small Jonesy, ol pal:-)

My Softube licenses were delivered this morning.  Only problem was the new iLok server was back down.  I'm sure I'll get em taken care of today.  But it has been...interesting...to say the least.

Maybe these latest complaints & problems will put another nail in the coffin & the remaining devs will stop using & requiring iLok altogether.
