New reverb plugin from Exponential Audio:
http://www.exponentialaud...ixVerb/PhoenixVerb.php

Created by one of the designers behind many of Lexicon's classics.

Demo'd it... and wow does it sound good.
Not cheap ($200), but it's the best algorithmic software reverb I've heard.
IMO, Significantly better than Lexicon's own PCM bundle...

Hi Jim,

Both of Michael's new plugs are great but Phoenix is killer.

Posted it a while back, didn't get much response I think because of iLok

I think Pace Technologies should start a new ad campaign with the slogan:

iLok, Get Over It.

Hey is there a new version of Phoenix that works with X2 64?  When I tried it a few weeks ago I couldn't get it to pass the VST scan.

Cheers,
Eddie

Hi Eddie,

My test system is running Win8x64 (using a multi-touch monitor)... but I know this circumvents the original Win7x64 issue.  Not sure if that's resolved or not.
Works fine here in Sonar X2a, Studio One Pro v2.5, Reaper 4.32, and Cubase 7 (haven't tried others yet).

We have numerous nice reverb options at this point...
But Pheonix just raised the bar (significantly enough) that I'm going to have to jump on this.

When auditioning reverb, I always listen to drum kit.
The transients really *reveal* the sound of the reverb.
You just don't hear the details with softer-attack/sustaining instruments.
Pheonix is exceptional on drums.

I'm not crazy about iLok, but I have both an iLok and iLok-2.
For quality plugins, it's worth the slight hassle (to me).

Thanks for the info, Jim ... I got in on the $40 Win8 deal but haven't installed it on my DAW yet since I'm of the "if it ain't broke" school, and I found the UI so non-intuitive on my wife's PC that I'm in no rush to upgrade.  :-)

Cheers,
Eddie

I almost don't see it a slight hassle. I actually consider it hassle free (after rejecting the idea for years). To each his own, they say.

Hello,

Have you tried this reverb on lead vocals for pop music ? :  It's an headache to get satisfying results on lead vocals with many reverbs on the market ( Nevertheless, I didn't try the  famous big name : Lexicon pcm, Relab 480 xl, Princeton digital,...)

Maybe it's me but I don't manage to get this "magnificient" dimension for vocals . I have QL Spaces : it's very clean/transparent but not enough character and doesn't cut through the mix (for voices) !Tsar Le reverb from the Softube mix bundle is too much coloured; I didn't managed to get something good from Breverb ! Only, the Pantheon (I have from Sonar 8.5) gives a certain "thickness" but that remains very limited, fixed, unnatural without (tri)dimensional magnitude !
Lastly, I purchased the IK Multimedia CSR which has a decent reputation ,but  (as far as I'm concerned and without wanting to denigrate the real quality of the IK stuff) I was rather disappointed.

Could we have any chance with the EA reverbs to come close to the Bricasti presets we can listen in this video ? There is no harm in dreaming !

Thanks very much for your attention
