I think bapu and I have taken that number to an obscene extreme.

Quite Roight Mate.

Or should I just say +1?

You and I do the job of nearly the next four people in line.

Well Done.

I took a listen. From just that small of a sample, it didn't really sound like anything familiar. But then, I haven't bought a new album since Hotel California came out, so............

what's an album?
oh wait!  I AM old!  I forgot...

You should study up on what constitutes infringement in musical compositions. There is a set of rules on what constitutes copying someone else's work. There are only so many notes in music and they've all been played a million times or more.

Just to make sure... we are talking about the snippet "Clean up the world..."?

Nothing like I have ever heard. In my ears, you would be good to go without issues. But then again, if it became a big hit, who knows whether some nobody comes out and takes a jab at it with their copyrighted song from the 19nn's. I wouldn't worry about it. Just my $.02.

It's hard to tell from such a short snippit.... record the rest of the tune.... if it's too close to another song, no one says you have to move forward with it. And there are tunes that might sound like they are copied from something else..... but they are not.

Several people here thought my tune Emerald Eyes ( on my sound click page) was similar or a copy of something else but no one including me could ever find a tune that was actually close enough to say "that's the tune you copied"..... so go ahead and record the tune.

however, 13 seconds is the ideal intro length, so based on that, you're off to a good start.

Thanks, I know what you're saying. There is more to the song, but this was the only part that I thought reminded me of something. That's why I only uploaded the little snippet.

However I have been writing songs for 40 years and have ripped of my own toons before now - so it could even be one of mine!

thanks
