If you wish to continue quaintly believing you don't **neeeeeeed** it then whatever you do, don't demo it on a boring generic polysynth.

Yup...but they never discount the "good" stuff much.  Ever.  I still use many of my UAD plugs but I wish I had my money back on many of my purchases from them. Many have been superseded by newer, better and CHEAPER alternatives.  And I think they better wise up and start selling the plugs at competitive prices pretty soon cause I don't think I'm alone in thinking this way.
