Couldn't have been more than a dozen people there who outweighed me by a factor of 3 or more.

Lowest number ever!

They don't have enough fringe for that...

I thought he was going to say that he found a deflibulator or somethin'...

I couldn't find the defibrillators.

But they did have lots of Halloween candy - so that people could buy it, eat it all, buy more next week, eat it all...

We already have a "Halloween City" moved into a shopping center... I'm not big on halloween, too much trouble and I already look strange so...

I started hearing Halloween stuff on August 31st... WTF?

I actually heard my first Christmas ad yesterday as well!  Nothing kills my interest in a holiday more than starting it months before the event...

Yeah it's really odd to me. Though I hate it, I sort of get the Christmas thing in terms of it being a huge part of the yearly business.

But do people really spend that much money on Halloween that every supermarket, drugstore and everywhere else need to put up huge displays 2 months early? When did it become a season?

And can't we sort of ease out of summer instead of dropping it like a rock on Labor Day?

It got up over 97 degrees F today (with 73% humidity) where I live and over 100 a few miles away.  Summer's not done yet...

We drop by at Walmart once a week to grab a few things like kitty litter, stuff for the gym and such. Since my wife and I LOVE Halloween, we took the opportunity and started grabbing decorations this afternoon. And we'll probably be buying more a bit at a time, each time we go. I'm not much of a cheesy-off the rack decoration person, but they have plenty of things we can certainly use to create our own twisted décor...

Walmart understand one thing - put it on display and people will buy things they'd never thought of buying when they walked in...
