Mike, you're enduring all this BS just to demo some reverbs?

There are way too many non-iLok alternatives out there to justify jumping through hoops like this. Especially reverbs.

I have a goofy situation where installed an Ilock or Samplitudes equivalent about 5 years ago. I launch the program - go wow this is a cool program - it crashes - I shut it down damn glad that I've only done experimental projects on it. I also have a Steinberg key that is used to launch Halion Player , which I don't need and wouldn't mind giving to my nephew. Here's the thing - I have never-except for initially licensing these programs - have been online to either of the websites, and I've changed internet addresses and computers once or twice so I have no cookies that the site would recognize - I have no clue how to even log into or where to even find the sites. This is like vaporware turned crusty which has turned to dust which has blown away. in one sense - that's the way it should be - just boot the computer and not worry - on the other hand- I'm so out of touch with them that I have no clue if they have a life when I change out computers or need to register anything else on these dongles. Where do I start to get the licensing information that's on the dongles?

I use Chrome but have to enable IETab.

From there everything works fine.

Wow! What a mess! Glad it worked out for you.

I hate dongles but knock on wood, I haven't had any problem with mine.

Yet...!

I've said before that when iLok lost WAVES it was the beginning of the end. This would also explain why they have not updated their system.  They will soon be gone.

Yep! I wasn't even able to get their site to recognize my ilok either.

Not on this internet computer nor my off-line DAW rig.

Just dead in the water all of a sudden.

That might explain it all right.

I'm using Safari 5 (on OSX) and no issue w/ iLok - even though the site says optimized for version 4.

As much as I dislike the dongle, ever since I started using one w/ Pro Tools last year, I must admit that I never had any issue w/ it.

OTOH, I've had authorization/copy protection issues with:

Cakewalk instruments (many times)
IK Multimedia Plug-ins/libraries (many times)
Focusrite plug-ins (twice, now fixed)
Korg instrument plug-ins (2 or 3 times in 1 1/2 month)
Arturia instruments (once)
SSL's Duende Code Meter (once)

If you ask me, the absolute worst type of copy protection is - by far - the soft version of the traditional dongle, like Arturia is using. It is much worst than the actual hardware. But any authorization method can give you issues and they all can cause a significant downtime.

So far, the hardware dongle is the only method that has not let me down at one point or another. I've also been lucky w/ Waves, but I consider the cloud to be similar to other methods already mentioned above which have failed at one time or another for me.

If you are ever having issues with our stuff our support is here to help. I'm also here, but don't have as much training as they do. Either way, if you're having issues with our stuff let us know. We want our stuff to work for everyone.
