Embertone make some very nice Kontakt libraries.
 
I just received the scattergram on the presale promotion for their new violin.
 
This one works with the free Kontakt 5 player. Good for those who don't own Kontakt but for those of us that do of course it means its a bit more expensive. It's $110 while the 20% off presale promotion lasts.
 
I have not listened to the demo tracks yet but it looks interesting.

The demos sound incredible.

This sounds like it will knock out the EWQL Solo Violin - which is far from the best violin out there.

This I will buy as soon as I can!

I agree - the demo sounds fantastic!

Just not sure if it's worth a hundred smackeroonies or so.

If you need an expressive solo violin (or ensemble!) that can be delicate or aggressive, that is easy to play without having to constantly switch articulations, it is well worth it. However, there is currently a bug that they are working on that causes mod wheel vibrato zipper noise. A patch should be released soon.
