Thanks peeps I will pass on your best wishes to Trudy
Wook, I know how much you love your dogs, and what a thoughtful and caring owner you are.
You'd be amazed, and no doubt angered, by the antics of some of the prize tools that walk their pooches around the
playing field at the bottom of my garden. They let them off the leash and have absolutely no control over them, even to the extent that they carry on their merry way yapping on their mobiles, oblivious to the fact that their dog is having a crap 50 yards behind them.
I once had to laugh at this one bloke though. I'd just lobbed some stale bread over the back fence to feed the birds (sadly I try to avoid tempting our avian friends into my garden because of the ruddy cats everywhere) when this (unleashed) pooch comes running in and starts eating it. The chap scolded his dog (as if the poor thing should know any better) and then proceeded, I kid you not, to lob every slice of bread back into my garden.
He he, I was out there like a shot and asked him what the feck he thought he was doing. Hie exact words were, "Because my dog is eating your ****ing leftovers and I'm not ****ing happy about it, that's why."
I managed to remain calm and politely informed him that if his dog had have been on its lead, or at least under his control, it wouldn't have eaten my "leftovers".
I could sense his minuscule brain trying to come up with something half-intelligible to counter me with but there was nothing he could say. I put him out of his embarrassed silence by adding that by throwing the bread back into my garden, I would have a strong case against him for criminal damage.
"You're just a know-it-all ****" was the best he could muster!
I haven't seen him for a while
