I echo Juliens proposal, perhaps there would be an additional "safeguard" that could be enabled to only allow the volunteer mods to delete a post from a new created user with , say less than, 10 posts.

Hey Ryan, maybe you guys could consider adding a few users, who are trustworthy and who have the time, as mods who can delete spam posts. Just limit them to deleting obvious spam, not recording related spam... I think that call should be left up to Cake staff but kitchens and watches... maybe get three people here to help. I think there are a few who have been here a long time and who wont get carried away, who will just delete obvious, unrelated spam. Just an idea... thanks for the explaination.
I figured that it was to limit the excessive use of bandwidth but didn't mention it... I didn't think it was my business, if that was the reason for it.
Of course... you know this will now be a chalenge to see who can be the first to max out at 250 in a day... LOL.

Have a good week Ryan.

Julien

I'm investigating some options to see what we could do to help all members remove spam posts when they appear. Currently if a post has three spam reports by anyone it's supposed to remove the post, but I'm not sure it works properly. There are some privacy concerns regarding moderation and promoting people to moderators that complicate things a bit.

I'm going update that number to 250, which is the maximum setting the software allows. I highly doubt anyone will ever exceed that.

I don't know...maybe Bapu....or Beagle.

Please let me introduce you to Bapu and clear all doubts you may have.

Thanks Ryan for updating and looking into this.

Bapu is king of posts, now.  I'm not even on here every day now.

Thanks for looking into it Ryan.  I'm typically working on my PC 12-15 hours a day - every day, so my little breaks usually consist of going over to the Coffee House for a little relief.  I don't know who keeps posting about a two minute delay (it's only one minute), but whenever you get into a thread that's more of a conversation, you're going to get more posts than when you're doing a one-off answer to someone's question.  I also know that this max number of posts rule is using some other kind of algorithm other than a strict "X" number of posts per day since I've hit it with as few as 30 posts done over a 24-hour period, however I was able to continue posting some 12 hours later...

Hi,

Honestly ... why do you feel the need to post 759 posts in one day at Cakewalk?

Your wife is likely to be quite jealous of that attention ... ohh wait ... never mind!
